Dr. Tadiwanashe Muganyi
Founding Partner & Managing Director

Dr. Tadiwanashe Muganyi is a development economist whose career is built on a single conviction: that capital, properly structured, is conservation's most powerful instrument.

His published research examines how financial systems drive environmental outcomes. It includes peer-reviewed work on green finance and environmental protection, and on fintech's role in financial development, cited more than 900 times in the international literature. Where most conservation conversations begin with philanthropy, Dr. Muganyi's work begins with markets: how investment structures, financial depth and innovation determine whether landscapes are protected or lost.

He brings that discipline home to Zimbabwe, where he leads a conservation portfolio spanning some 45,000 hectares of wilderness, working alongside the communities whose livelihoods and heritage are woven into these landscapes. His conviction, and Nexcelia's founding principle, is that Africa's conservancies hold two communities: the people who live around them, and the herds, prides and packs that live within them. A fund that serves both is not practising philanthropy. It is recognising value the market has overlooked.

Dr. Muganyi holds a PhD and leads the Nexcelia Research Unit, the fund's in-house research capability.

How We Lead

On the ground

Our team lives and works in the markets where we invest. We do not manage African assets from European or American offices. Operational decisions are made by people who understand the local landscape: politically, ecologically, and commercially.

Conservation-native

We did not retrofit an ESG framework onto a financial strategy. Conservation and community integration are foundational to how we source, structure, and operate every asset. Our leadership team's professional histories reflect this: conservation is not a marketing overlay, it is career-defining work.

Institutional discipline

While our assets are remote and our markets are emerging, our governance, reporting, and risk management meet the standards that institutional LPs expect. The Fund operates with the rigour of a metropolitan private equity vehicle applied to the most distinctive asset class on the continent.

See Conservation in Action

Every Nexcelia property sustains two communities: the human community that operates it, and the animal community whose habitat it protects.

Nexcelia works with a limited number of institutional partners, family offices, and qualified investors. To learn more, we welcome your enquiry.
